It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dana Eugene Lyon Sr. of Johnson City, Tennessee, who passed away on September 5, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Lee and Lucille Lyon; his brothers, Leland, Gale and Ken; and his brothers-in-law, Ted, Phil and Millard Garland.
He is survived by: his wife Georgia Garland Lyon; his children, Dana Lyon Jr. (Melinda) and Ginger Muncy (Brad); his brothers, Steve Lyon (Jane), Bobby Lyon (Sheri) and William Jones; his grandchildren, Matthew Lyall (Hope Salyer), Scotty Westley Lyall (Kelsey), Triston Mock, Gracie Bradley, Harper Bradley and Aydyn Lyon; his great grandchildren, Hailey, Sunny and Scotty Westley Lyall, Jr.; his sisters-in-law, Ruth Garland, Judy Garland, Kathy Garland and Donna Lyon; and his in-law Jess Garland (Marsha). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 11th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services (101 E F St, Elizabethton, TN 37643). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 11th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Thursday, September 11th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Roselawn Memory Gardens (3033 S Roan St, Johnson City, TN 37601).
