She was predeceased by: her parents, Zack South and Belvia South; her husband Silvester Phipps; and her siblings, James, Jack South and Elva Jaynes.
She is survived by: her son Michael Phipps (Janet) of Abingdon, Virginia; her grandchildren, Matthew Phipps (Misty) of Richlands, Virginia and LeeAnne Schmid (Brian) of Kernersville; her great grandchild Bryson Schmid of Kernersville; and her stepgreat-granddaughter Chelsea Redmond of Richlands, Virginia.
