It is with sadness that the passing of Garry Phillips of Johnson City, Tennessee is shared. Garry, born on August 17, 1947, passed away on October 9, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Garry will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honor Garry by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. Though Garry is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. Garry’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He was predeceased by: his parents, R. C. Phillips and Eva Harris Phillips. He is survived by: his son Garry Lane Phillips, II (Jessica) of Knoxville; his grandchildren, Maggie Phillips, Reid Phillips and Raylan Phillips; and his sisters, Sheila Cinnamon (Steve) of Knoxville and Peggy Horton (David) of Johnson City. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Robert Ledford Funeral Home and Chapel (720 Ohio Ave, Erwin, TN 37650). A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Tipton Griffith Cemetery.
