He was loved and cherished by many people including: parents: Lee Townsend and Hattie Hodges Townsend; wife: Margaret Buck Townsend; son: David (Christi Brooks); granddaughter (step): Cassandra Brooks; sisters-in-law: Ruby Whitehead and Betty Townsend; other: Gary Edwards, Tom Kellum, Travis Thompson, Chuck Milam, Alex Trivette, Dewey Hill, Gene Carrier, Kenneth Howell, and Kenneth Arwood; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM and on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 10:50 AM at the Memorial Funeral Chapel (212 N Main St, Elizabethton, TN 37643). A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Happy Valley Memorial Park (2708 Elizabethton Hwy, Johnson City, TN 37601).
