He was predeceased by: his father Sam; and his siblings, L. I. Slagle, Frances Glass, Mary Ruth Tipton, Thomas Lee Slagle, Jackie Markland and Tonya Bennett.
He is survived by: his wife Edith Kathleen Dove Slagle; his children, Michael Slagle (Gail) and Wendy Harmon (Timmy); his grandchildren, Michaela Slagle Saylor (Dusty), Jacob Harmon, Hunter Slagle and Jacob Smith; his sisters, Yvonne Cole and Lorena Campbell; and his caregivers, Molly Livesay and Wanda Austin. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
