She was predeceased by: her parents, Grant Egan and Armina Egan; her husband Perle Sorah (Jack); her siblings, Doris Laney, Bertie Tichenor and Millard Egan; her children, Gretta Faye and Harold Ray Sorah; and her grandchildren, Joyce Lee Dye, James Harold Dye and Jeremy Sorah.
She is survived by: her children, Freda Swartz (Ronald), Joe (Annette Sorah) and Perle "Jackie" (Susan); her grandsons, Jonathan Sorah, Noah Sorah (Michelle), Wayne Swartz and Mathew Greene (Ginger); her great grandchildren, Cyrus, Rylee and Xander Swartz; her brother James "Jay" Egan; and her son Robert Tichenor (Patti).
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Irene's honor are preferred to the D.A.V. Washington County Chapter #9 (PO Box 1991, Johnson City, TN 37605 or 423-926-2226).
