He was predeceased by: his parents, William Wesley and Elouise Jenkins Gilbert; and his brother Jere C. Gilbert. He is survived by: his daughter Renee Hilbert (Aaron); his grandchildren, Brayden of Jonesborough, Emma of Jonesborough, Hannah of Jonesborough, Kara of Jonesborough and Sarah-Samantha Hilbert of Jonesborough; his siblings, Phil Greenwell (Linda) of Lexington, KY, Bill Gilbert, Theresa Elrod (Todd) and Mary Anne Gilbert-Smitherman (Tish); and his close friend Cheyenne Lowery. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
