Michael left this world on June 20, 2025 at the age of 67, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Herman Mathis and Flaura Faye Ledford Mathis; and his son Parker Andrew Mathis. He is survived by: his children, Brittania Mathis Henson (Aaron) and Michael Mathis; his grandchildren, Eli, Eland, Eldon, Eldridge "Sicko" Henson and Lilah Mathis; his fiancée Lisa Weatherly; his brother Terry Mathis (Tonya); and his friend Bucky Tarr.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the HIS Way Baptist Church (114 Harbor Light Dr, Johnson City, TN 37601). Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Macon Funeral Home (261 Iotla St, Franklin, NC 28734). A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Fouts Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parker Mathis Memorial Scholarship Fund.
