She was predeceased by: her parents, Starlin Hughes and Mildred Hughes; and her husband Lewis Daniel Whaley. She is survived by: her children, Vincent Z. Whaley (Lori), Kimberly Valk (Mark) and Nikki Wilson (Matthew); her brother Richard Hughes (Christine); her niece Camille Boccia; and her grandchildren, Claire Valk, Lucas Valk, Ansley Wilson and Jacob Whaley.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
