He was predeceased by: his brother Greg Dobson; and his niece Mary Beth Dobson. He is survived by: his wife LaDonna; his sons, Charles Richard "Chuck" Dobson Jr. (Jennie) of Charlotte and Benjamin Samuel "Ben" Dobson (Sarah) of Charlotte; his grandchildren, Kaylee, Kaycee, Charlie, Kaydee, Ellie, Kate and Sam; and his brother Carlton Dobson (Pat). He is also survived by niece, several nephews, and a great nephew.
