He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry F. "Boots" Lyons and Rhoda Frances Townsend Reeme; and his siblings, Judith "Judy" Irene Lyons Dale, Sandra Kay "Sandy" Lyons Adams and Charles Robert "Bobby" Lyons.

He is survived by: his wife Sarah Strappello-Lyons; his siblings-in-law, Rick Strappello (Connie) and Lois Strappello; and his aunts, Carolyn Shelley, Linda Killen and Reba Townsend. He is also survived by many cousins and other family members.
