She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry W. Smith and Myfanwy Williams Smith; her husband Rev. Nelson C. Woody; and her sister Nancy S. Swartwout. She is survived by: her son Nelson Douglas Woody (Tonya); her grandsons, Benjamin, Evan and Carter Woody; her children, Nancy Woody McManus (John) and David S. Woody (Angee); and her granddaughters, Rachel Woody Babb (Brennan) and Laura Woody.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 7th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Holston Conference United Methodist Cemetery (30461 Garnand Dr, Emory, VA 24327). She served in the Hospital Auxiliary at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN, for six years, and was a member of the Hospital Auxiliary at Bristol Regional Medical Center from 1991 until the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, where she helped run the hospital gift shop.
