He was predeceased by: his parents, Sidney Arthur and Alice Katherine Hawkins; his wife Joan Elizabeth Sylvester; and his sister Marjorie Masters. He is survived by: his children, Steve Hawkins (Angie) and Lisa Hawkins Kimmons (Chris); his grandson Matthew Hawkins (Leilani); his children, Taylor Burkey (Brandon), Jacob Hawkins (Paige), Caroline Routh (Joshua) and Lauren Kimmons; and his sister Beverly Jo Britt. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Morris-Baker Funeral Home Dogwood Chapel (2001 E Oakland Ave, Johnson City, TN 37601). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Monte Vista Memorial Park (1900 E Oakland Ave, Johnson City, TN 37601).
In lieu of flowers, Sabe requested for donations to be made to The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke in loving memory of his wife, Joan.
