It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Sarah Jane Payne of Johnson City, Tennessee, who passed away on September 15, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Leland Ford Cox and Sarah Taylor Cox; her sons, Mark Stout and Jeffery Stout; and her brother Bobby Cox.
She is survived by: her children, Ken Stout of Jonesborough, Kevin Payne (Becky) of Johnson City and Janet Payne of Johnson City; her siblings, Larry Cox (Christine) of Jonesborough, Rev. Jack Cox (Renee) of Raleigh, NC and Judy Morrow of Johnson City; her daughter-in-law Vonda Stout of Johnson City; her grandchildren, Tina Mendez (Jeremiah), Aaron Payne, Phillip Stout, Eric Stout, Bo Yelton and Vonda Morgan (Brandon); and her great grandchildren, Weston Payne and Olivia Mendez. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family asked that contributions be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
