He was predeceased by: his parents, Rob Bennett and Ida Cole Bennett; and his brother Casey Bennett. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Bennett; and his siblings, Freddie Bennett (Shirley), Scottie Bennett (Beverly), Eddie Bennett (Linda), Linda Howell (Roy) and Elaine King (Ernest). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
