He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Denise Flynn and Dorris Sutherland. He is survived by: his wife Francis Glenetta Flynn; his children, Elizabeth Sangid (Larry), Christina Weber (Keith), Ethan Flynn (Sarah), Buddy Vaughn (Melissa) and Cheryl Flowers; his grandchildren, Mark Flowers, Meagan Flowers, Mykayla Vaughn, Madilyn Pereira, Sarah Sangid, Abigail Flynn and Gabriel Sangid; and his great grandchildren, Ben Parks, Crystal Flowers and Hazel Flowers.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Appalachian Funeral Home (800 E Watauga Ave, Johnson City, TN 37601). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. The military honors will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Mountain Home National Cemetery (53 Memorial Ave, Mountain Home, TN 37684).
