He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard David and Louise Street Thompson; his former wife Geneva Thompson; and his siblings, Bobby Thompson, Kenneth Thompson and Lois Norris.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Hensley Thompson; his children, Michelle Smith Curtis (Jay) and Roger Dean Smith (Kim); his sister Patsy Crum; and his close friends, Joe McQueen and Bob South. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
