It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Doris Janette Groos of Jonesborough, Tennessee, who passed away on June 18, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Bose David and Ada May Bair; and her siblings, Jack Bair, Vivian Littleton and Evelyn Tester.
She is survived by: her son Phil Groos (Celecia) of Powell, TN; her grandchildren, Maegan Mupesewa (Anyway) of Zimbabwe and Sara Hobbs (Andrew); and her great grandchildren, Ruvy, Judah, Evy Mupesewa and Abel Hobbs. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
A burial was held on Saturday, June 21st 2025 at 11:45 AM. A graveside service was held on Saturday, June 21st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Maple Lawn Cemetery (400 US-11E, Jonesborough, TN 37659).
