He was predeceased by: his parents, Stafford Ferguson and Lou Etta Snead Ferguson; his son Mark Ferguson; his siblings, Jo Terry, Doug Ferguson and Doris Stanley; and his stepson Jared Sturm.

He is survived by: his wife Portia Ferguson; his daughter Lora Hobbs (Jeff); his grandchildren, Haley Deel Jordan Coats (Hannah), Zack Hobbs and Lyra Hobbs; his great grandchildren, Jaclyn Coats, Norah Deel and Willow Coats; his siblings, Denton Ferguson (Ann) and Jean Collins; his siblings-in-law, Ed and Kathy Matthews; and his stepson Tyler Sturm. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the doctors and especially the nurses at Johnson City Medical Center (Covid-19 Ward) for the care and great compassion they have shown to Buddy and his family.
