It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Karen Denise Tilley of Jonesborough, Tennessee, who passed away on January 15, 2021, at the age of 59, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Eugene Pierson Sr. and Ellen Skinner Pierson of Virginia; her stepfather Albert Johnson; and her sisters, Jean Hicks, Barbara Pierson and Sharon Sheward.

She is survived by: her husband Patrick E. Tilley; her children, Michelle Carter (Charlie), Melissa Tilley and Eric Tilley (Tiffany); her brothers, Carl Pierson Jr. and Allen Pierson; and her grandchildren, Jacob, Sierra, Matthew, Caleb and Austin. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
