He was predeceased by: his wife Christine Cox; his parents, Leland Cox and Sarah Cox; his siblings, Bob Cox and Jane Payne; and his uncle Hobart Beals.
He is survived by: his children, Jessica Landers (Brandon), Brittany Cox (Zack), Lewis Cox (Candi), Lisa Wear (Wade), David Cox, Susan Love (Gene) and Becky Hall (Louie); his grandchildren, Eily Cox, Gracyn Landers, Oliver Miller, Taylor Wear, Lindsay Wear, Meghan Love and Emily Love; his great grandchildren, Lukas Wear, Jasper Givens and EmMareigh Givens; and his siblings, Jack Cox and Judy Morrow.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home (418 W College St, Jonesborough, TN 37659). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
