He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Charles Rutherford and Texie Rowland Rutherford; his grandparents, Thomas Charles, Elizabeth Shepherd Rutherford, Charles and Harriet Hagan Rowland; his siblings, Mildred Jeanette Phillips, Lee, George Carroll, Thomas Charles Jr., Talbert, Paul Glenn and Lewis Jack Rutherford; and his niece Vicky Rutherford Thomason.
He is survived by: his daughter Rebecca Jean Rutherford; his granddaughter Nina Miniet; his niece Janet; his nephews, Chuck, Michael, Talbert Linn Rutherford and Ronnie Phillips; and his sisters-in-law, Stella Rutherford and Betty Rutherford Presnell (Raymond).
