She was predeceased by: her parents, Dock Carver and Etta Davis Carver; her husband William Whitson; and her siblings, Howard, Johnny Carver and Thelma Smith.
She is survived by: her sons, J. D. Whitson (Barbara) of Gray and Tom Whitson (SuEllen) of Unicoi; her sisters, Charlene Cook of Maryland and Sue Karner (Willis) of Maryland; her grandchildren, Whitney Whitson Wolfe (Zach) of Denver, CO, Jennifer Johnson (Erik) of Gray and Julie Murray (Matthew) of Gray; and her great grandchildren, Grace Murray, Abbie Johnson and William Johnson. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that contributions in her name be made to the Missionary Fund at Word of Life Church, 490 Okolona Road, Johnson City, TN 37601.
