With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mary Helen Houston of Kenton, Tennessee, who passed away on December 1, 2023 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Iverson Wiley and Hessie Wiley (Ward); her spouse Coy Reece Houston; her grandson Hunter Houston Grady; her son-in-law Lonnie Grady; and her sisters, Frances White and Celia Spence.
She is survived by: her children, Beverly Grady (Houston) of Union City and Gary Houston (Marsha) of Rives; her grandchildren, Melissa Brown (Todd), Helen Melsa, Luke Melsa (Amy), Mary Margaret Read (David), Dr. Lolly Eldridge (Stephen) and Jim Coy Houston (Jenny); her great grandchildren, Houston Brown (Shantell), Parker Brown, Miller Brown, Harry Brown, Sofia Shaikh, Anna Shaikh, Reese Shaikh, Lane Melsa, Camron Melsa, Olivia Melsa, Ryder Melsa, Georgia Anne Read, Madeline Eldridge, Emily Eldridge, Abbott Houston, Lynnlee Houston and Cora Houston; her great great grandchildren, Waylon Brown and Kennedy Brown; and her daughter Janet Melsa. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis or to Random Acts of Kindness Foundation.
