He was predeceased by: his parents, Afton Messick and Bell Messick (Vineyard); and his brother Michael Messick. He is survived by: his son David Allen Messick; his granddaughters, Hannah (Messick), Bledsoe (Marcus), Bella and Rayne Messick; his great grandchildren, Jackson and Tatum Bledsoe; his sister Patricia "Sissy" Turner (Messick); and his nieces, Amy and Shayla.
