He was predeceased by: his significant other Wanda Louise Renfro; his parents, Howard Renfro and Nell White Renfro; his sister Kay Latta; his niece Nancy Smith; and his nephews, Robert Smith and Ricky Renfro.

He is survived by: his siblings, Ray Renfro, Wayne Renfro (Barbara) and Linda Smith; his children, Judy Farmer (RC), Jerri Hale (David), Jackie D. Renfro, Christi Nunley (Mike) and Greg Ellege (Wendy); his adoptive son Jesse Jantz (Renee); his close friend Angie Van Selow; and his caregivers, Ken, Diane Miller, Mike, Teresa Fullen, Jay, Linda Tanner, Ted Davis, Robert, Etta Long and Judy Hughes. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Blessed Hope Baptist Church, Kingsport, Tennessee.
