He was predeceased by: his parents, James C. Spangler and Lydia Dingus Spangler; his wife Catherine; and his children, Garry Edwards, Glenn Spangler and Judy Gaylor.
He is survived by: his daughters, Betty Bell (Larry) and Shirley Moore. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
