She was predeceased by: her parents, Amos Shortt and Marie Shortt. She is survived by: her husband Calvin Larry Benge; her daughter Aimee Benge Stefanick (Matt) of Franklin, TN.; her siblings, Larry Shortt (Kathy) of Castlewood, VA and Judy Rife of Richlands, VA; her sister-in-law Carlene Shortt of Huntsville, AL; her nieces, Dana Smith (Jeremy) and Zara Steva (Thomas); and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Jaci, Daniel Smith, Leon and Rosalyn Steva.
In lieu of flowers Carol has requested donations be made to Gideons International for the purchase of Bibles or The Foundation Fighting Blindness.
