He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry "Joe" Rachel and Jessie Mays Rachel; his siblings, Danny Rachel and Joanne Farrow; and his foster son Nathan Conkin.
He is survived by: his sons, Danny Rachel (Mary) and Tim Rachel (Ginger); his grandchildren, Melanie Glas (Brian), Kellye Carmack (Craig) and Christopher Rachel (Brittany); his stepgrandson Dylan Bullman; and his brother Ronnie Rachel (Bonnie). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the James H. Quillen Medical Center.
