It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of David Larry Gilliam of Kingsport, Tennessee, who passed away on June 29, 2025, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lon Gilliam and Ruth Gilliam; his parents-in-law, Roy Crabtree and Ruth Gregory (Bill); his daughter-in-law Angela Gilliam; and his siblings-in-law, Karen Woodring (Jim) and Doug Hinson.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Gilliam; his children, Dennis Gilliam, Chris Gilliam (Leslie), Jeff Gilliam (Monica) and Jon Gilliam (Saundra); his grandchildren, Brandie, Seth (Sarah), Ethan (Kasey), Jacob (Morgan), Trevor (Lexi), Logan, Evan (Kaela), Mattie Kate, Matthew and Denton; his great grandchildren, Mason, Ella, Liam, Charlotte, Slate, Elias, Ezra, Hadlee, Easton, Thor, Ruthie, Hazel, Evren and Raven; his sisters, Faye Nottingham (Ben) and Janie Hinson; and his siblings-in-law, Dallas Tyree (Bob) and Mike Gregory (Marilyn). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 3rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes (117 E Charlemont Ave, Kingsport, TN 37660). A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 3rd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Oak Hill Memorial Park (800 Truxton Dr, Kingsport, TN 37660).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to Colonial Heights United Methodist Church and/or McFerrin United Methodist Church.
