With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Deanna Rhea Light Goad of Kingsport, Tennessee, who passed away on December 17, 2025 at the age of 66. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Deanna departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Deanna may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Deanna leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her son Brian Wayne Light; and her father James Garfield Light. She is survived by: her mother Mable Bell Light; her daughter Jessica McDavid; her siblings, Sharon Light (Glen), Lesia Jobe (Larry) and Eddie Light (Connie); her granddaughters, Mercedes McDavid (Dylan) and Morgan McDavid; and her daughter-in-law Donna Light. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial contributions may be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. in her honor to continue the fight.
