He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Gilbert and Rita Fezzie Gilbert; his sister Marsha Gilbert; his mother-in-law Carrie Woodard; and his sister-in-law JoAnn Gilbert.
He is survived by: his wife Patsy Woodard Gilbert; his son Ben Thompson; his granddaughter Katie Fleenor (Taylor); his brother Ward Gilbert; and his cousin Jay Guisti (Linda).
