She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Edward Brooks, Jr. and Jane Greer Brooks; her husband Don Shepherd; her brothers, Charles Edward Brooks III and Andrew Marshall Brooks; and her brother-in-law Frank Carver.
She is survived by: her daughter Heather Whited; her granddaughter Hailey Moore; her sisters, Greer Mayer (Chuck) of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Rebecca Carver; and her sister-in-law Patsy Ford Brooks. She is also survived by several nieces, great nieces, nephews, and great nephews.
In lieu of flowers, her family suggests memorial contributions be made to Kitchen of Hope, 740 East Sevier Ave., Kingsport, TN 37660 or Friends of Allendale, 4444 West Stone Dr., Kingsport, TN 37660.
