He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion Payne and Lillian Simpson Payne; and his brother Billy Payne. He is survived by: his wife Janie Miller Payne; his daughter Lori Holt (Frankie); his grandson Nathaniel Reeves; and his siblings, Tessa McCarley (Kevin), Brenda Gillenwater (Larry), Michael Payne (Sonya) and Eddie Meade (Karen). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
