He is survived by: his sons, Denver Joyner (Stella) and Steve Joyner (Starlett); his close friend Carolyn Armstrong; his brother Joe Clifford Joyner; his grandchildren, Patricia Gilliam (Cory), Chris Joyner, Bradley Joyner (Rachel), Candace Crews (Michael) and Andrea Joyner; his great grandchildren, Ayden Sturgill and Eden Joyner; and the mother of his children Betty Joyner Thomas.
