He was predeceased by: his parents, Baker Sims and Laura Sims; and his sisters, Jean Sims and Mildred Kestner. He is survived by: his sister Helen Mercer of Hickory, NC.; his children, Suzanne Lawrimore of Hickory, NC, Greg Sims (Annie) of Knoxville, TN and Jenny Sims of Kingsport, TN; his grandsons, David Lawrimore and Josh Lawrimore (Colleen); and his great grandchildren, Simon, Miles, Glenn and Rose.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services (800 Truxton Dr, Kingsport, TN 37660). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Oak Hill Memorial Park (800 Truxton Dr, Kingsport, TN 37660).
