He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Gott and Lola Goins Gott; his wife Ola McInturff Gott; and his brothers, Hubert Gott and Bobby Gott.

He is survived by: his sons, Gary Gott (Kathy) and Ronald Gott (Susan); his grandchildren, Chris Gott and Kevin Lindsey (Lisa); his great grandchildren, Lauren, Allyson and Isaac; his great great grandchildren, Price and Nixon; and his brothers, Bill Gott and Gerald Gott (Sheryl). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gravelly Baptist Church, 647 Gravelly Road, Kingsport, TN 37660.
