He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Olinger and Sally B. Olinger; his wife Ina G. Olinger; his children, Harold Olinger and Barbara Olinger Nelms; and his brothers, Lee Marshall Olinger and J. C. Olinger.

He is survived by: his children, Jerry Olinger, Jeff Olinger, Teresa Clark (John) and Sharon Kay Robinson; and his grandsons, Corey Nelms (Hannah) and Dylan Nelms. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
