He was predeceased by : his parents, Rev. Allie Byrd and Gussie Byrd; his son Barry Byrd; and his siblings, Rev. Joe, Allie Jr., Bill, Donald, Johnny Byrd and Faye Porter.

He is survived by : his children, Kathy Everhart (Conrad) and Brian Byrd (Melanie); his grandchildren, Holly Fox, Brianna Compton, Hannah Hite, Hope Everhart and Brandon Byrd; and his great grandchildren, Connor Fox, Barron Hite and Ember Compton. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

A burial was held on Wednesday, April 10th 2024 at 10:50 AM. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, April 10th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Oak Hill Memorial Park (800 Truxton Dr, Kingsport, TN 37660).
