He was predeceased by: his father James O. Summers. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Derting Summers; his sons, Jason Summers (Cathy) of Auburn, AL and Justin Summers (Kate) of Knoxville, TN; his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jonathan Summers of Auburn, AL and Claire Summers of Knoxville, TN; his siblings, Becky Vandigo (John) of Glen St and J. C. Summers of Middleburg, FL; his sisters-in-law, Jill Sauceman (Fred) of Johnson City, TN and Janice Derting of Kingsport, TN; and his close friends, Jerry and Patsy Williams. He is also survived by 4 nieces, 1 nephew, several great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews, and many cousins.
