With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Atlee Greene of Kingsport, Tennessee, who passed away on June 8, 2025 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As John Atlee departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved John Atlee. Though John Atlee may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lillard Greene and Bessie Greene. He is survived by: his wife Linda Greene; his daughters, Laura Hatcher (Tim) and Melissa Siele (John); his granddaughter Brooke Siele; his stepgrandchildren, Ashley and Hayden Hatcher; and his siblings, Jerry Greene and Phyllis Byrd. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes - Kingsport (117 E Charlemont Ave, Kingsport, TN 37660). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Mountain Home National Cemetery (53 Memorial Ave, Mountain Home, TN 37684).
