He is survived by: his wife Shirley; his daughters, Melissa Harper (Tom) of Columbia and Meredith Jones (Brad) of Blountville, Tennessee; his grandchildren, Joshua Harper and Alexa Jones; and his brother Charles Harper of Huntsville. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, which provides caregiver support, educational programs, and essential resources for individuals and families living with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia.
