It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lucy Lenora Gilkey of Kingsport, Tennessee, who passed away on July 22, 2022, at the age of 101, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Eugene Wilson Gilkey; and her daughter Theodocia Pearl Nicholas. She is survived by: her daughters, Mary Lynn White (Gaylon) of Kingsport, TN and Effie Eugenia Bennett (John) of Pasadena, CA; and her grandchildren, Shane White (Michele), Erin Fairbanks (Greg), Rory White (AnnaLiisa), Joy Scott (Mike), Ben Nicholas (Sarah), Melody Nicholas and John Bennett (Shelby). She is also survived by seventeen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Gideons.
