It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Michael Edward Proffitt of Kingsport, Tennessee, born in Bristol, Tennessee, who passed away on February 18, 2023, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Carter William Proffitt; and his siblings, Sammy Proffitt and Donna Mayo. He is survived by: his mother Dorothy Bethany; his wife Debra Proffitt; his children, Chris Proffitt (Jessica) and Heather Proffitt; his grandchildren, Tanner, Kelsie of Grayson, T. J., Spencer and Avery; and his siblings, Willie Proffitt (Mary), Ron Christian (Jessica), Mary Waterman (David), Tina Jones (Lee), Debbie Haynes and Tina Navarro. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
