He was predeceased by: his mother Bessie Stapleton; his great grandchild Lydia Gentry; and his siblings, Joyce Ann, Carolann, Gert, Bobby and Junior.
He is survived by: his father Charlie Stapleton; his wife Brenda Stapleton; his children, Matonya, Donnie Brown, Amanda and Keith Barger; his grandchildren, Summer Salyer (Christopher), Darian Barger (Christopher), Derrick Salyer and Devyn Barger (Morgan); his great grandchildren, Scarlett Gentry and Brixon Gentry; and his siblings, Larry (Margaret) and Tina (Georgie). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and special friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, May 10th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes - Kingsport (117 E Charlemont Ave, Kingsport, TN 37660). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 10th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, May 11th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Liberty Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery (30 Graysburg Hills Rd, Chuckey, TN 37641).
