He is survived by: his wife Sherry Smith (Gilliam); his sons, Richard "Rick" Smith, Charles "Brandon" Smith (Natalie) and Kenneth "Ken" Smith; his grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth "Beth" (Smith), Tandra Smith, Charles William "Billy" Smith, Keli (Smith) and Ecker (Dalton); his great grandchildren, Easton Bowery, Gavin Bowery, Amiyah Smith and Rilah Smith; and his caregivers, Kelly, Katie, Mike Driver and Richard.
