She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonard Purcell and Sallie Ora Purcell; her husband Luke Lee Barnette, Jr.; her son Jerry Lynn Barnette; and her grandson Brian Jason Barnette.

She is survived by: her children, Joel Keith Barnette (Argelene) and Leigh Ann Bridgman (Jeff); and her grandson Joel George Luke Barnette. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and her church family.
