It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John Calvin McClure of Kingston, Tennessee, who passed away on October 24, 2025, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert McClure (Bob) and Elizabeth Wood McClure of Kingston, TN.; and his brothers, William Eugene McClure and Robert McClure Jr. of Tucson, AZ.. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Guinn; his daughters, Jeannie McClure Davidson (Bill) of Kingston and Sarah McClure Santos (Ricardo) of Kingston; his grandchildren, Brandon McClure, Ethan Pannell, Gracey Pannell and Jessica Davidson Yarbrough (Zach); his brother Joseph McClure (Shelia) of Kingston; and his sister-in-law Sarah Jane McClure of Tucson, AZ. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Kyker Funeral Homes Our Kingston Chapel (350 W Race St, Kingston, TN 37763). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.

“Lieutenant Colonel John McClure was a good friend and true patriot, an excellent boilermaker, and example in all he did. I recall the many years we worked together at Bull Run and Kingston, and our many discussions about the national defense; his from the Army perspective, and mine from the Navy.
