He is survived by: his son John Childress (Kelly) of Kingston; his grandchildren, Emma Childress of Knoxville, Skylar Haley (Travis) of Knoxville and Ashtin Sockwell of Chattanooga; his great grandchildren, Dawson Eagleson and Lillian Rue; and his pet Butch. He is also survived by his family, friends.
A graveside service was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Poplar Springs Cemetery (415 Old Poplar Springs Rd, Kingston, TN 37763).
