He was predeceased by: his parents, Adrian Barnes and Hazel Roberts Barnes; and his siblings, Bobby Wayne Barnes (Teresa) and Wanda Barnes Clark. He is survived by: his fiancée Catherine Van Houton; his siblings, Pat Davis (Glenn) and Troy Barnes (Teresa Farris); his son Bryan (Sarah); his stepdaughter Linsey; and his grandson Sloan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.
